To build an inclusive society wherein members of the target groups are provided adequate support for their growth and development, the Department of social justice & empowerment through its programmes and schemes strives to bring the required change in society. These schemes become very important for the purpose of UPSC examination as these schemes are being asked in Prelims and Mains examination both.

The GS SCORE’s ‘Good Practices – Social Empowerment Schemes’, is a compilation of important initiatives of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. The schemes covered in this document are thoroughly discussed including their need, key features, outcomes, suggestions etc. Along with this additional information regarding the key stakeholders is also given. This will be helpful for aspirants to attempt prelims questions as well as to write mains answers in UPSC Examination. The data analysis will help to support and write critical answers in the Mains examination.
