Ayan Jain hails from the city of Bhopal and this city was celebrating when he grabbed All India Rank-16 in the UPSC CSE 2023. He comes from a family of civil servants. His father is a retired officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS). He followed the path of his brother Arth Jain, who also coincidently grabbed AIR 16 in the UPSC CSE 2020. His brother is currently serving in the Madhya Pradesh Cadre.

Ayan cleared the JEE Advanced in 2017 with AIR – 237. Both the brothers, Arth and Ayan have graduated from the coveted Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Ayan completed his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. During his IIT days, he worked in the National Service Scheme (NSS) which confirmed that he wanted to pursue that type of work which would bring some good to society.

The preparation journey was not as smooth as he could not clear the prelims in his first attempt. But learning from his mistakes during his first attempt, he secured All India Rank (AIR)-87 and joined the Indian Police Service (IPS). But he was unsatisfied with this and eagerly wanted to improve his shortcomings. The handwork and the will to constantly improve finally paid for him when he grabbed AIR-16 in his third attempt in UPSC CSE 2023.
