Vidushi Singh: A Journey of Dedication and Success

From the sacred city of Ayodhya, a young woman emerged who would go on to achieve remarkable success in the most challenging examination in India. Vidushi Singh, who secured AIR 13 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022, is a testament to perseverance, focus, and meticulous planning.

Born in the culturally rich city of Jodhpur, Vidushi moved to Ayodhya at a young age, where she spent most of her life. Raised in a supportive family environment. Upon completing her schooling in 2018, Vidushi chose to pursue higher education at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University, one of India's most prestigious institutions. There, she graduated with a B.A. (Hons.) in Economics in 2021.

Vidushi’s journey to becoming a civil servant began while she was still a student at SRCC. Balancing her studies with the early stages of UPSC preparation, she made use of the COVID-19 lockdown to focus on the basic NCERT textbooks, laying a solid foundation for the rigorous exam ahead. Post-graduation, Vidushi dedicated herself entirely to preparing for the UPSC CSE, deciding to fully utilize the year 2021-2022.

Her strategy for preparation was comprehensive and well-planned. For mains preparation and mentorship, she enrolled in the Mains Program at GS SCORE . Vidushi’s approach to answer writing was one of the key factors in her success. She began practicing answer writing as soon as she had completed her foundational readings, knowing that mastering this skill was critical for success in the mains examination. Regular tests allowed her to refine her writing and receive timely feedback, ensuring that she stayed on the right path throughout her preparation.

Despite this being her first attempt at the UPSC CSE, Vidushi's strategic planning, disciplined preparation, and ability to learn from her mistakes led her to rank among the top 15 candidates in the country. Her story is a beacon of inspiration for countless aspirants, particularly those from smaller towns, demonstrating that with the right mindset and a structured approach, success in UPSC is achievable for all.
