A first-of-its-kind system for South Asian countries that will provide alerts for flash floods 6-24 hours in advance was launched at the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The Ministry of Finance has allowed individuals and institutions to contribute directly to the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF).

The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs inaugurated the 1st International Conference on “Landslides Risk Reduction and Resilience” in Delhi. The conference has been organised by the National Institute of Disaster Management.
