GS SCORE announces Integrated Test Series (ITS) for Mains cum Prelims. This is essentially to help the candidates who are willing to write the IAS exam in 2021-22 and want a solution for integrated preparation for General Studies.
Prelims is more to check the breadth of knowledge an aspirant has. Having said that there are two portions static and dynamic. Static portion requires the fundamentals or basic concepts of a topic that are mentioned in the syllabus. To cover this you have to study the NCERTS and some standard text books. Dynamic part requires the material which includes mainly current affairs and the linkage between the static part and the dynamic part.
Mains are entirely different from the Prelims objective examination. Mains are a subjective examination. It gives you scope for analysis rather than mugging up the facts. Hence this Mains examination has to be studied keeping in mind that one needs a holistic approach in depth with capacity to analyze the questions from various dimensions. It also has two parts Static and Dynamic. From Dynamic mainly questions from the current affairs are asked. If you go through last year previous question papers then Dynamic questions are being asked as well as static.
Generally, most of the candidates prepare for Mains and Prelims simultaneously. There are many subjects which demand integrated preparation as these subjects are equally important in both Mains and Prelims. ITS is an integrated Mains cum Prelims test series for UPSC which helps candidates to integrate their tests series for Prelims and Mains.
Now the final question is how to maximize output from the Prelims Cum Mains Integrated Test Series? - Mains and prelims tests both are designed in two layers. In mains tests first level tests (GS Mains Topical Test) will be of 10 questions which help students to start with a comfort and GS Sectional Revision Test of each mains test is of 20 questions. In prelims topical test is of 50 questions and sectional and mock is of 100 questions. So, the test starts with the initial level and gradually it goes to complete the UPSC pattern. Apart from it - Discipline. It is a one-year test series plan.
