Without proper self-evaluation, failure is inevitable.

-John Wooden

Around 11.5 lakh students applied for UPSC 2022 out of which only 13090 cleared the Prelims stage. Thus Prelims is considered the most important filtration stage in UPSC.

Before appearing in the actual exam thus it is necessary one should do enough practice. Further, there is no perfect time than now to start attempting Mock Tests for Prelims.

Mock Tests can be sectional or full-length tests. Mock tests may contain questions that will not be asked by UPSC but Mock Tests will help you in the following ways:

  • Time management: The length of the Prelims paper has increased over the years. Keeping this in mind we see that those who have attempted adequate Mocks are able to manage time more efficiently, many are able to read the paper twice while some are not even able to go through it once.
  • Pressure handling: The most important feature of a mock test is that it gives you confidence that helps you tackle surprises.
  • For Example, UPSC asked a new pattern of questions in 2022 Prelims containing options in which guessing was very limited.
  • Mock tests in such situations help you to handle the pressure in the examination hall.
  • How to play with options: There are situations when you are able to eliminate one or two options but you don’t know the correct option, in such a situation Mock test helps you to know your accuracy and risk-to-reward ratio.
  • How much to attempt: Some candidates qualify for prelims by attempting just 60 questions while other qualify by attempting more than 90 questions, Thus Mock tests tells you about an optimum number of questions you should attempt based on the difficulty of the paper.

In order to provide you momentum for your prelims preparation, we GS SCORE are organizing a series of All India Mock Tests for UPSC Prelims 2023. Through the series of Mock Tests 2023, you will be able to evaluate yourself on an all India level and have a better idea of your strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat. We conduct two mock tests every month: One test covers a static portion while the other is focused on monthly current affairs.

An analysis of past years’ papers has shown that Prelims paper is heavily oriented towards current affairs. Thus our test series is designed in such a way to cover comprehensively all major newspapers including the Hindu and Indian Express. It also covers magazines such as Yojana, Kurukshetra, Down to earth etc. Special focus is given to PIB and various ministry-related websites.
