Union Cabinet approves price support to Cotton Corporation of India

A decade and half after the introduction of BT-Cotton, India has not only become the largest producer but also the second biggest exporter of cotton worldwide. Can this transformation in cotton production be solely attributed to the introduction of BT-Cotton?  (150 words)
