The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the international body for assessing the scientific aspects related to climate change.
To date IPCC has published five assessment Reports and each assessment report has built on the work of the previous ones, adding more evidence, information, and data, so that most of the conclusions about climate change can be drawn.
The current part, the second part of IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report talks about climate change impacts, risks and vulnerabilities, and adaptation options. The first part of the report was released last year which was centered on the scientific basis of climate change.
The IPCC report is very important from the point of view of UPSC Preliminary as well as Mains Examination as questions can be directly asked from these reports.
