Answer writing is not only about blindly writing answers to questions. It is a well-strategized effort to secure marks and a skill to hone. This requires a protracted process and a series of exercises. Before going for answer writing there are certain pre-conditions or necessary skills that will ultimately help in Answer Writing Skill Development.

In order to address the major challenges and to provide solutions to it, we are organizing SAMARTH: Answer Writing Skill Development Bootcamp. It will involve a series of activities that will be helpful in developing and honing essential skills for Answer Writing. The following list of Activities:

Activity 1: Deconstruction of Questions

• Deconstructing a question is a valuable strategy to understand its key demands and ensure that your response is focused and relevant.
• It will enable the aspirant to understand the specific areas which will be important in his/her response.
• By systematically applying the steps provided, you can deconstruct a question, grasp its key demands, and tailor your response to address those specific aspects, leading to a more focused and effective answer.

Activity 2: Clarity in Expression

Activity Takeaway

• This will enhance your understanding and recalling ability of the concepts while writing answers.
• The aspirant must be able to write 40-50 words on a particular concept which will facilitate him/her in writing answers in the later stages of answer writing.

Activity 3: Correct Use of Directive Words

• It serves as a handy reference guide for students to quickly understand the expectations associated with different directive words during exam preparation.

Activity 4: Identifying Dimensions

Activity Takeaway

• Developing the skill to generate relevant dimensions in answer writing requires practice, critical thinking, and familiarity with the subject matter.
• It will enable you to understand the demands of the questions and list the key dimensions or components that contribute to addressing them.

Activity 5: Depth in Answers

• For example, the depth of answer writing will come through different components such as Critical Analysis, Contextual Understanding, Interdisciplinary Approach, Use of Examples and Evidence, use of counter-arguments, and data interpretation.

Activity 6: Structure in Answers
