Renewable Energy- It is often referred to as clean energy, comes from natural sources or processes that are constantly replenished. Solar, Wind, Biomass and Hydro Power Plants are the major sources of renewable energy in India. These sources are not detrimental to the environment when harnessed for generation of electricity. In the world that is facing environmental powers such as deforestation, climate change, rising sea levels, pollution etc., a strategy to migrate to cleaner sources of energy is considered to be an intelligent choice. India, like rest of the world, has considered using this alternative sources of energy and has set targets for achieving the same. This Data Story aims at presenting the target, present status and components of renewable energy in India.
