Each suicide is a personal tragedy that prematurely takes the life of an individual and has a continuing ripple effect, dramatically affecting the lives of families, friends and communities. Every year more than 100000 people commit suicide in our country. There are various causes of suicide like professional/career problems, sense of isolation, abuse, violence, family problems, mental disorders, addiction to alcohol, financial loss etc. The NCRB data comprehensively shows different trends with regards to state-wise data, causes of suicide, economic and educational background of victims etc. The study of the data points given in the Report helps us to make our points related to these social issues more substantive.
